Note 1: The supply is designed to be powered by a 24VAC, 56VA transformer for 30W output power at +85C or 40W at +45C. A 16V, 40VA wall-cube transformer may be used if maximum output power is 20W and maximum output voltage is 15V.

Note 2: The DC voltage (if used) must be at least 10% above the highest output voltage - not to exceed 36V.

Note 3: The average DC input current (if used) should not be allowed to greatly exceed 3A - especially at high ambient temperatures. Short-term current bursts of up to 5A are permissible.

Note 4: This assumes the board is mounted on metal standoffs with #6 screws. If 3/8" nylon standoffs and #6 nylon screws are used, the isolation is 4,000V peak or the isolation rating of the transformer or DC source - whichever is less. This also assumes that a 3/8" air clearance is maintained around the board's heatsinks and other components.

Note 5: The regulator circuit automatically limits the output current to 3.0 - 3.5A. This current value may not be possible however, if the total output power exceeds 30W at +85C or 40W at +45C.

Note 6: A minimum load current of 15mA is required to maintain regulation.

Note 7: There is an extra-filtered output available for each voltage. The resistance of the filter is approximately 0.05 ohms which gives the choice between lower ripple and tighter regulation.
